Visual Arts Week
What an amazing Visual Arts Week 2026 we had!
We kicked off the week with an inspiring art incursion led by First Nations artist Kent Morris, attended by all Year 11 Visual Arts students. The session supported their studies while sparking curiosity about cultural knowledge and the ongoing survival of the world’s oldest living culture.
Throughout the week, students enjoyed a range of lunchtime activities celebrating each Visual Arts subject. The Media Photobooth gave students the chance to grab some fun props and capture memories with friends, while the Architecture Workshop introduced students to SketchUp, a 3D architectural design program.
Students also embraced the opportunity to participate in our whole-school Post-It Note Competition, where they were given complete creative license to transform a simple sticky note into a miniature masterpiece. After receiving many outstanding entries, congratulations go to our winners: Alexandra C (Year 11), Gemma L (Year 7) and Scarlett T (Year 10).
Our Silent Art Auction was another highlight, raising funds for Saltbush while giving beautiful student artworks a new home in our community.
To finish the week, past pupil and current staff member, Bobby Campbell, collaborated with our Art Club students to create a stunning mural inspired by the Coastal Banksia. This joyful project celebrated creativity, collaboration and our connection to the natural environment, leaving a lasting legacy within the Art rooms.
Visual Arts Week was a wonderful celebration of creativity, imagination and artistic expression, with something for every member of our school community to enjoy.
A heartfelt thank you to the entire Visual Arts team for their enthusiasm, generosity and teamwork. Your dedication made the week such a memorable and successful celebration of the Visual Arts.
Invitation to Unveiling of Phar Lap Artwork at Braeside Park
Our Friday lunchtime Art Club recently worked hard on a special community project celebrating the 100th anniversary of Phar Lap. Students from a range of year levels came together through their shared love of art to create a stunning painting that will be installed at Braeside Park as part of the Cypress Stump Art Trail.
